使い方のコツ
"Native" is pronounced /ˈneɪ.tɪv/, with stress on the first syllable (NAY-tiv) — many learners mistakenly stress the second syllable. As an adjective, "native" needs a noun after it, like "native language" or "native to," so you can't say "I am native." "Native" can also be a noun: "a native" means a person who comes from a certain place, as in "She's a native of Boston." Don't confuse "native speaker" (a person) with "native language" (the language itself) — saying "my native speaker" is a common mistake.
