claim
意味
claim(クレイム)は「〜だと主張する」という意味。
To claim means to say that something is true, even without proof. It can also mean to ask for money or something you believe you deserve.
例文
He claims that he saw a UFO last night.
You can claim money back if the product is broken.
She claimed the prize after winning the contest.
In English, "claim" does not always mean something is false—it just means someone is saying it without full proof yet. Don't confuse it with the Japanese word "クレーム," which usually means a complaint. Also useful: "claim to be ~"(〜だと主張する)、"claim for a refund"(返金を請求する)のような形でよく使われる。
